How to reset window motor?

How to reset window motor?
i tried searching for the exact procedure but sadly I cant find it (everyone references the procedure, and says to search for it, but the search yields only other people telling people to search...fail)
Basically I just swapped my passenger side window motor out, the window was stuck all the way up so I had to adjust the window manually so that the new motor would fit...needless to say it was a little off
Now the window doesnt roll all the way up, but rather 3/4 of the way up before it reaches the artificial wall, and cracks open (for when the door is open)...The motor works well, but I need to reset it so it knows how far to go up and down...
Thanks guys, my car is currently in pieces so I'd appreciate any help ASAP haha

ok so that helps, I wasnt looking for a reset button haha...ok so i peeled off the tape...is this button on the motor itself? I found something that could be a button, but its very stiff and doesnt press much like a button (could be a gromet or something goofy attached to the motor). Also, when i press it, nothing changes in the window movement...is there some process involved in pressing it?

My driver side window had the similar problem.
However, my window keeps opening 3/4 way when I get out of the car and close my door..
It keeps happening.
I just don't roll my window all the way up to deal with this problem..
Would resetting the motor solve my problem?
Any advise would be great.
Thanks in advance.

Window motor
Hi all,
Here's my problem on a 2008 Infiniti G35 Journey:
All of a sudden, the passenger window went down and stayed there. It was the motor, since I opened it and the brushes were worn. Replaced the motor and ... still not working.
I am reading about a reset button. There is none on the motor.
Rain season starts and I am desperate.
Thank you for all your help.

I got a new window motor from EBay for my g35 2006 coupe.
However, I did not pay attention when I ordered the part. It has no ''reset switch''
Last night, I installed the motor but the window will not open or close when I opened the door OR when I open the door, window will go down half way.
Is there a way to setup/program that motor even if there is no ''reset switch''?
thanks

So you're saying there is no small button on the motor? It should be visible through the little access hole with the door inner panel installed. There are a couple of black plastic "circles" that are semi-glued on and can be removed to access the reset button once you have that metal inner panel reinstalled.
There is no way to calibrate the motor without that zero switch. I would return it since it's technically not the correct one for a 2006 coupe.
EDIT: Also, be very careful since it's not calibrated it likely isn't going to drop your window 1/2" when you open the doors and if it's NOT dropping the window you run a serious chance of breaking the glass when you try to close the door. As a short term way around this problem you can remember to drop the window a little before exiting the vehicle then put the key in the door lock and hold it to LOCK to roll the window back up, you will also need to hold the key to UNLOCK to drop the window back down before you enter the vehicle again.
