Hawk I went through the same experience as you. my first car was a 72 super beetle. I got tired of pushing that around so I bought a 97 civic my last year of high school. Fixed the civic up to the max got tired of getting fix it's so I drove a sleeper eclipse and camry.

Honestly though I really could care less about the 18+ hp. I meant what I said and it's not cause I don't have it. Turbo and fine tuning makes 18hp nothing. However they got the 18hp, it can be obtained in the same way for less then the factory charges.

I bet the g35 didn't hurt many of our wallets here, but if your bragging so much about it not phasing you, buy this [img]/w3timages/icons/smile.gif[/img]

I just feel for those folks with 2003/2004 AT COUPES, they lost out a lot. I'm not saying that you all don't have nice cars now, you do. But with these mid-year changes that Infiniti are making, it makes the G35 a finer car. It's going to be more powerfully and luxurious then ever. Think about it though, the 2005 6MT Sedan will have more HP!! then the 2003/2004 AT Coupes, that’s just sad, honestly. I'm not trying to put down any group of folks. I just feel that it's unfair how they only upgraded the 6MT models. It's going to be better for those people that are going to buy a 2005 G35. I would be honestly upset if I had gotten a 2004 AT Coupe, just to find out that my Grandma's 2005 6MT Sedan now has more ponies. I figured that the 2005 6MT Sedan and the 2005 AT Coupe should be about the same price, with the differ pricing offsets. So, you pay about the same price, but you would get more HP with the Sedan look. Doesn't make any sense to me, but oh well, that’s Infiniti for you.

Now from a spelling lesson to 05 comments.....
It will be interesting to see what the new 0-60 and 1/4 mile times are for the 6MT. The HP will be offset by the larger diameter wheels. Also, since the 6MT sedan is lighter than the coupe, the sedan may be quicker than the coupe!!! They are revising the suspension too; i'm not sure which way that will affect handling.

I don't like the forged 19's, they are too after-market and ghetto-bling. I really want MP3 though!! Notice how we all hate our stereos?!? My tape deck is worthless. I haven't seen a tape since high school. Also, the smoother shifter will be nice. I just hope there are factory mods to help get some of that 18HP for our 03-04's, but it is probably all in the ECU programming. If it was revised intake manifold, cam timing, etc., Infiniti (with an i at the end not a y people!!) would have put it on the auto-tranny cars too.

Do we actually know what the 19's will look like?? I thought it was pretty clear that the picture at the beginning of this thread showed 17" wheels.

 

I believe those pix in the top post are the 19's. Look at the sidewall of the tires. They are very thin. Plus, forged AL wheels are usually polished, not painted.

Those rims are 18". I've seen the sidewall of the tire in another thread.

 

but honestly, this is the price of buying a car. they always come up with new **** the next year that you wish you had...happened to me on my Tundra a couple of years ago when they came out with the double cab next....

The 2003-2004 6MT sedans already make more horsepower than the 2003-2004 AT coupes. If you believe Infiniti's ratings of the cars, then on paper the coupes have more horsepower, but looking at dyno sheets, the 6mt sedans put down the same amount of horsepower as the 6mt coupes. I really doubt that the sedan 6 mt drivetrain is more efficient than the coupe's mt drivetrain (to say that one makes 260HP, another 280HP, but both put down about 230-240 RWHP)

Seems to me like Infiniti is just giving the sedans a more truthful rating for horsepower for 2005.

 

Umm can't wait for the O5! Something else to beat lol
