so confused!
so confused!
ok ya'll. so i was about to go and order my coupe yesterday, when i was looking at the post about the premium package. is it worth it? i mean, i can do without the sound system, and order just the sunroof, but are the other features included worth it? the homelink system, the dual zone climate control, dimming and auto on/off headlights? i never had dual zone climate control and really dont understand how it works, but would these things be worth the extra $1200 outside of the sunroof? i'd like to know from those that have these.
thanks
cringing to get this, and trying to afford this car, especially since i looked at the acura tsx yesterday, and there is no way in hell i want to get a different car, but my wallet says otherwise. and plus its only a 160/mth price differnce. oye vay. so if you guys can tell me whats up with these options.

Re: so confused!
I've never had these options in any other car but admit I like having them now. The dual climate control is nice for fickle girlfriends but I rarely use it. the autodimming mirror is very nice though since there are alot of jackasses here in Cali that don't know when to shut their brights off. The Homelink is alos very especially for me since I don't have a home. I just it to get into my fathers house or gated communitys my friends live in. Also if you are an audiphile like me you need get the better stereo unless you plan the replace it with an after market. The upgraded bose system is just nice enough to be tolerable. All in all including the Sunroof it was very worth it for me, plus it adds to the cars value if I plan to sell it, (NO!) later on. Peace.

Re: so confused!
The way I looked at it, in the grand scheme of things, the price of the premium pack is small in comparison to the price of the base 6MT. I personally would use the Auto-climate, Homelink (I have two controllers for my home, one for the gate and one for the garage), sunroof. As for the bose, I listen to alot of music on my commute, so the Bose upgrade is ok with me.
But all in all, it is up to you on what you like and what you are willing to spend your money on.

ReDRok....LOL !!!!!
I think that's the sole reason that the dual climate control was invented...the girlfriends..."it's too hot....I'm cold....blah blah blah !"
I'd just rather always leave it on 60...

Re: so confused!
He He. I never or rarely change it. Don't have the AC on that much either, even in Cali. The windows were ment to be rolled down and the sunroof to be open in my opinion. That way I can hear the exhaust. My gal feels other wise though and think infiniti figured that the back seat combined with the dual zone climate control would "encourage" and resistant wifey's or G/F's to give approval for homer to have a new toy.

Haha "it's too hot...im cold!!....blah blah..." Man do I know how that one goes. My g/f is the only person I've ever known that can be cold when it's in the 60s or even 70s outside

Re: so confused!
iwant,
Check out infiniti.ca. In Canada, there are only 3 ways to buy the car- 17s (coupe), 18s (performance pack), 6mt (manual)- all loaded with the stuff you're wondering about. The Nav can be added to any of the above. I'm a Canuck- it surprises me how different your packaging in the US is, but I checked out dot com to compare to dot ca. Judging by your sign-in name, you sound committed. I have the performance pkg (5AT, 18s w/Pilot Sports, ltd slip diff, addtnl titanium trim- all else comes standard). While you might not know how much you'll enjoy all the stuff you've mentioned until you have it, I promise you WILL enjoy all that stuff WHEN you have it. Auto HID Xenons are great, dual zone AC keeps your pax quiet when one of you is in the shade and the other is not, around town the sunroof is awesome, and if no one has said so, you can do 70mph with it "up" and it doesn't change the interior volume hardly at all. At 60 you can have it full open similar interior dBs (speaks to the great aeros on the G). There have been alot of bad reviews on the 350Zs sound system. In direct contrast, the 225 watt 8 spkr in the G is superb. I have a $20K home theater in my house, and I still love to listen to any sort of music in the car. With the homelink and auto mirror, you won't need any batteries for the ugly garage door opener hanging from the visor any more, and you don't need to keep flipping back n forth between day and night when you're in the city. All this stuff makes the driving environment more fun- more about the driving and less about the crap that distracts from driving (note half the stuff you mentioned is auto this or auto that). Sunroof is "one-touch" rather than hold the button as well, btw. I'm 6'1" and sunroof is not a prob. A bit of tech trivia- the auto on/off can help with the life of your HIDs: the one thing that kills HID life is short on/off use. By keeping the lights on longer, the auto system can help to protect against this. Enjoy your ride, and stop wondering what if. You only live once.
