coolant question

i changed my coolant like1000 miles ago and i came up with this question now. i drained the coolant from the radiator not the engine block. so im guessing there50% watter in the engine block left but i put 50/50 coolant in. doesnt it mean i ha v more water than coolant? was i suppose to put more coolant than water?

my bet is you already had 50% coolant / 50% water in your coolant system prior to the drain down so you haven't changed the ratio. had your coolant been serviced prior to the change 1000 miles ago? were you always running the nissan coolant?

i changed the coolant 1000 miles ago. i used nissan coolant 50/50.
i had 50/50 in the engine and radiator but when i drained, i re-drained with water until it drained clear water. doesn't it mean that now there's 50% water in the engine block?
and i put 50/50 after draining so i have...100/50 coolant?! lol

For the reason you just mentioned... unless I'm pulling the block drain plugs before refilling and draining the entire system of the last flush's fluid content.. I usually refill my final fill with something like 70% coolant to 30% water so that it all evens out eventually. You don't really need 50/50 anyways. You can use 60 or 70% water to 30% coolant... especially if you live in a place where it's not too cold.
