Just stop arguing guys. Doesn't matter how old you are. G35,6MT is trying to get a car, its his money. Let him do what he does. Big ups to OP for using his own money to get his car, and choosing to stop arguing, it shows maturity. =D
Also, about your argument. You both are right.
The G35 can have too much power or too little. It depends who drives it. You can't say its too much power for a beginner to drive. As long as that beginner is a responsible driver, they will never push the pedal down far enough to get that power. I know this from experience, and I know that as long as I drive respectably and conservatively, instead of recklessly, theres no need to worry about how much power I have.
Regarding the G37 not having as much power as you though, it might not seem as fast because its a luxury coupe. The ride is smooth and the interior is luxurious. On the other hand, the G37 is quite heavy, so that extra 50hp is almost canceled out by the added weight.
Good luck getting a car G35,6MT. Also, if it doesn't work out, consider the alternatives I gave. I personally, would love an S13/S14. =)

^ rough estimates
2003 Infiniti G35 Coupe 0-60 mph 5.4 Quarter mile 14.0
2008 Infiniti G37 Sport Coupe 0-60 mph 5.2 Quarter mile 13.7
the g37 IS faster then the g35 .2 seconds count, these are ALL rough estimates
2008's had the 3.7 L VQ37VHR V6 330 hp ~ 3627 lbs
G35's has 3.5 L 222 kW (298 hp) V6 (thats assuming its an 06-07) weighs ~3,400 pounds
and u guys are talking about the older versions.

I just spent 35 minutes reading through this thread. Apart from the informative and comedic posts from the more experienced members, there's an abundance of immature postings from kids that I find annoying. Flaunting your parents expensive cars and arguing facts about a car you don't even have. Getting into arguments over stupid ****. I don't care how old you are, if you act like a kid then you will be treated like a kid. This post is merely what I think of this thread so far. If anyone feels like I've singled them out in any way, too bad, its called constructive criticism and if you can't handle it then stop posting.
Back to the topic: Do not buy a salvaged title unless you know exactly what has happened to the car or you have an experienced mechanic thoroughly inspect the car from top to bottom. As already mentioned, you might get lucky or you might get f***ed.
FYI - A few months ago I was thinking of getting an 05 Elise for 19K from a private seller. Owner failed to mention that it was a salvaged title(shady POS). You couldn't tell from just looking at it. I RESEARCHED the shop that did the repairs and they said the car had engine and frame damage. Definitely passed that up.
Do the research, it is important.

I knew the older G35's had 298. I just said "extra 50HP" to keep with his statement, and to make less confusion. The source of my information was myself, I didn't bother searching because I already know more about the G37 than the average person. And 3,600-3,700lbs is heavy.

I just joined a couple weeks ago. I've been lurking for a while now. I've been following this particular thread since its start. I understand what hes trying to do, and I commend him for it. I'm only 20yrs old and I plan on buying a G in a couple weeks. But what in your mind gives him the right to put other people down and insult many people, and when hes insulted or called out on something its ok?Originally Posted by nfsp1
