^ Definitely. It will also stretch out the life of your automatic transmission. I went through three tranny's on my i30 before I got a shift kit installed. The car pulls harder, engages gears instantly (with-out slip between gears) and the power delivery is instant.

If you want, make a video of a non-vb modded G Vs. a VB modded G.

The difference is shattering. I remember pulling on my friend's i35 with my i30, each time I edged forward is when my car shifted gears.

I'm also wondering on price on labor as it's going to be one of the deciding factors for me to upgrade anytime soon.

Likewise. If someone could chime in and just let us know what the going rate is. I've wanted this mod for awhile now, i just need to crunch the numbers!

I recently got a quote from a shop here in socal for this kit, around $740 installed. Includes the kit, fluid, and labor. I would've pulled the trigger on it already, but they'd need my car for 1-2 days....

Can't wait to check out your car @ the 50 Degree Meet this Sat. Its funny how we never got around to it Tues night during our other meet.

You also have to check out the dspec/htech combo on my G and see how it rides

I would also like to know how it acts with the VDC off, considering that is how I drive in all conditions other than wet roads. Too much back end play in the rain Especially on asphalt.
Tofu said he almost went sideways the other night when he punched it with VDC off..

I'll wait for him to chime in with more details on that one.

^What shop was that?
Did they order the kit or did you take it to them?

Oceanside Transmission apparently does it for $600 out the door. I'm calling them tomorrow to verify. I'll update when I find out.

This was Corner 3 Garage. They order the kit for you, it's like $285 +tax for the transgo kit. I haven't done this mod yet.

Ok guys, the install for me was just about 300? I honestly didn't even check the invoice, just swiped my card really..
I know the guys there very well so I know they helped me out, given that it took them 2 days since they were doing other things to my car as well..
And their hourly rate is 90.00

Hope this helps some.

And Mike (tiguy99) what did you need for me to elaborate on my car going sidways with the VDC off with this upgrade?

It was scary as heck, but won't lie.. fun as hell.
