Thumbs up Just installed the Transgo VB upgrade on my 06 coupe.

It definitely makes a difference, the experience for me is night and day.
Of course it depends on your driving style.
At normal driving, you can't even feel a difference, but if you punch it, it's a whole other animal.

When driving in the manual mode, before the light in the instrument cluster changes the number, (example: when shifting from 1st to 2nd gear, a indicator will show you what gear you're going into) your car already is already in gear. The shifts are that fast. very fast.
I can make my tires chirp/spin partially in third gear with VDC still on.
I have yet to do any shifting with my VDC off, I'm a bit timid to try that yet as my back end whips out whenever I shift past 4700 rpms.

Upon down-shifts, since my car is equipped with rev-matching, there is NO crazing bogging or rough jerky downshifts, they are all very smooth for me throughout most of the powerband.

Overall I'm very pleased with the results, any further questions upon anything else as far as my personal opinion/feedback on the vb upgrade, feel free to ask me here.

I'll post up a video soon.

Many thanks to Sandy at ForgedPerformance for shipping it to me in a timely manner!

I know another member did pics and a bit of a DIY, just curious, did you find this a difficult job?

295 shipped from forged performance.
It was a bit labor intensive, but I didn't do the install as I don't have a garage here to do it, I worked with a local shop who did an excellent deal out for me.
took 2 days since I had a few other things taken care of as well with the car

I was watching/helping assemble everything and the instructions are very clear, you just have to be extremely careful disassembling/reassembling the parts. There is quite a lot of parts when you drop the pan, so make sure you take your time and don't rush it.

It's well worth the install, any other questions of any kind feel free to ask.

How does the car feel if you punch it while you're in D? Does it still have the same effects?

Please try manual mode with VDC off shifting from 1-2 while WOT. I want to know what that feels like because my stock VB shifts HARD from 1-2 while WOT to the point where the car rocks itself and the *** end dips down fast then back up. I know this is slowing down my 1/4 mile time.

Could have something to do with my coilovers.

Yes with my stock vb Officer, my car had a huge THUNK when shifting from 1-2.
But with the Transgo vb, you have a huge kick in your butt, but you don't get the bog, nor do you feel or "hear" that thunk as you would with the stock vb.
Smooth and hard shifts, is the best way to describe it, without any offset feelings.

When I punch it in D, it does feel the same really.. lightning quick shifts regardless. I do have to say though having the car in the manumatic mode is so much more fun with the VB upgrade.

Great news. Here's my question. If my wife drove a G with a transgo, would she notice the difference? She doesn't drive hard at all. I'm talking about when she shifts from P to D. Taking off from a stoplight, during upshifts in D mode etc.. Just the normal routine stuff. Thanks

No. when you shift from P to D or P to R, you feel absolutely no differences with the gears engaging.
With honestly normal driving, anything udner 2800 or anything really like that with just normal cruising driving, you feel as if you would with a stock vb, only thing you do notice is when the car shifts (assuming you're in just D and not the manumatic mode) the shifts are just much quicker, and I do mean much quicker, but it wont jerk you in your seat, at all.

I could have my grandma drive my car (lol) and she wouldn't even notice a thing. Unless if she gets on it of course.

Awesome thanks. You do the install yourself after reading Tollboothwilley's thread?

This automatic stuff is so "black magic" to me.

This is my ABSOLUTE next mod. I'm still thinking of tackling my install vs. having a shop do it though

In either case, Mike..
I have the invoice from the shop, or I can still help you out with it.

I'm just a phone dial away man! This spring is going to be fun.

I've been planning on doing this mod for a while now. Just need to find a shop around here that can install the upgrade. I'm glad to hear about the results.
Anyone know if an aftermarket toque converter would make much of a difference?

Awesome thread. It answered all my questions about this mod. Not quite sure i'd want to tackle this one on my own though. It's a sensitive part and I'd rather not mess something up. Does forged performance (or other company) offer some sort of deposit/core exchange program type thing?

I would also like to know how it acts with the VDC off, considering that is how I drive in all conditions other than wet roads. Too much back end play in the rain Especially on asphalt.
