Have the door lock actuators been updated?

Does anyone know whether the door lock actuators have been updated? Is this common among all years or just the 03's? I'm contemplating whether I should drop close to $200 get an OEM one which will fail again or do the $5 universal mod.

You're better off doing the $5 DIY. I did it myself and it has worked flawlessly for about a year now.

No flaming, what's a BCM? I'm considering doing this too. My passenger side is shot to h*ll.

Rear door locks don't work

One of my rear door locks do not work from the inside! The door must be opened from the outside. How do I fix it without getting ripped off at the dealership?

Even when the door is unlocked you cannot open it from the inside? I assume since you said rear door you are referring to a sedan. Did you check if the child safety lock is not enabled?

The door actuator is just for the automatic unlock/lock. So your condition will not have anything to do with the actuator.

Yes, when the door is unlocked, it can only be opened from the outside. The child safety lock is off. What do you think?

Hmm, I couldn't tell you man. I have only had the car for 3 days. You're best bet would be to pop the door panel off and see if any of the linkages are broken. When you pull the inside door handle, does it feel the same as the other door handles or does it seem like nothing is connected to it?
