Questions before possibly purchasing a g coupe tommorow!
Well, Im most likly going to trade in my VW passat tommorow to purchase the 2004 6mt twilight blue with wheat interior I had posted about.
Car has all options including Nav, 51k miles. negotiated to $16,500.
So I was wondering if with these cars do you guys think it would be worth it to pay the $200-$300 to have my local Infiniti to a full inspection of it first?
The car has a squeaky clean carfax, and is low milage for the year so I was thinking just an extended test drive would be all thats needed since these cars are supposed to be pretty reliable, correct?
Also, Should I sink another $2,000 into an aftermarket warranty or will the common problems such as the window motors not add up to all that much? Just wondering because the only reason I bought a warranty for my passat was to cover it because theyre not the most reliable cars, but Ive learned the whole thing is full of loop holes.

Yes get it checked out by a good shop. It doesn't have to be from Infiniti though. I had an 04 6MT coupe with 53k miles checked out and it completely failed. The mechanic said he's never seen a car in that bad of shape yet it looked perfect on the outside and drove fine. I feel sorry for the people who eventually bought it. I think it's hard to find a 6MT that was treated well, a car like this doesn't usually attract the most mature drivers.
woooow. an inspection shouldn't cost a dime over 150. You only need them to check out the mechanics (engine, tranny, etc.) shouldn't take them more then 2 hours, going at a shop rate of 75 dollars max. Your not using any fluids or grease and you can basically get a guy that knows very little about cars to do it (atleast thats what infiniti will do).
I had infiniti inspect my car before I bought it, but that was partially because I was 1200 miles away sooo. yeah. anyways, only costed me 110, and they even inspected the radio and the tires and that kind of stuff, you can do all of that on your own (I hope)

Alright thanks, the car was a previous lease, so that's my real concern since a person who had this type of car wouldn't baby it at all esp if its not their problem, but I guess that's what a good mechanic can tell me.
definietly get it checked out then
you will have to do your 60K service right away too. I would do it early seeing as how the 30K service was probably skimped out on.
