My Car is Slowly Dying!

Hey guys. I have a 2003 G35 Sedan and over the past week my car has just slowly broken down on me. Last friday my car's service engine soon light came on so the next day I took it to get the oil changed, got a cooling exchange(I think that's what it's called) and got new belts.

Soon after I left, the car began to overheat rapidly. I stopped the car and parked on the side and called the guys from Sears and told them what happened. They came to where I was and said that it was overheating probably because there was air in the pump. They never took the air out and just put some more cooling. When I started up the car again, the engine would die very fast, even when the car wasn't moving. Also, when driving, the acceleration was not in sync with the car, so if you were to press the accelerator all the way down the car would rev, but there would be no power to back it up. The mechanics kept saying that the timing was off. So I left it there overnight and came back for it the next day.

When I Picked it up the next day it didn't overheat but I kept it at a low speed of 40mph. I was able to get home like that and didn't bother to try going any faster in fear that it would overheat or maybe the engine would become idle.

The day after that I went to get gas. Shortly after I got gas, the car started making really nasty noises and the engine was shaking a lot. The shaking felt like the shaking it would do right before the engine would die. It kept shaking for a while until finally the car had no more power(as in acceleration power) and the engine died. I pulled to the side and tried to start up again but it wouldn't. I thought it might have been the battery so I took the battery to Kragen and got it checked out but the battery was as good as new. I couldn't get the car to start up so I got it towed home.

So basically, my car won't turn on anymore, and it still shows the service engine soon light. It also shows every possible indicator on the speedometer possible. Any guesses to what it could be?

get your engine code read that will help you with your first step.

your engine light pops up and you get an oil change... should of have had sears check the code for you.

ok... 1st when the SES/check engine light comes on.. you need to get the code read, not an oil change.

2nd. If they did a cooling system flush, chances are they did not know there is a valve they need to opened (fear firewall on passenger side of vehicle) to get all the air out of the cooling system.

as said above they probably didn't do the coolant flush correctly. This car is really picky with coolant flush from different cars I have done it on.
And even if they did the coolant flush correctly they would have to turn the a/c on max with the temperature all the way up to get the system flowing if I remember correctly... I did it a while back.

The first and last time I'll ever take my car to sears I had the struts replaced on my Maxima, normally I'd do it myself but my dad really wanted it to be a Birthday gift and for me not to do the work... anyways, 2 days later the lower strut bolt came out and the front left corner of the car started dragging on the ground,. Luckily I was just pulling away from a stop sign and was only going about 15 mph... anyways, long story short, sue the bastards!!

Unfortunately, someone who doesn't know what a "cooling" change is called.

OP is in for a learning experience here. If it's not expensive, it's at least going to be a major hassle.

If it was shaking extremely bad then A) Multiple cylinder misfire. B)Overheated the engine.

Check if you have coolant in your oil (looks like chocolate milk). A tell tale sign of a blown head gasket due to overheating.

holy **** ? coolant flush, and oil change were wrong,

1. you should have been on top of your cars oil quality anyways.(as well as everything else to keep her healthy) that obv shows that you knew you were well over due and put it off, then the light came on and you said oh **** its prob the overdue oil... nono you should be up on that anyways. coolant flush? wtf? run the codes man, i know everyones not car mechanic oriented but damn if you dont know yourdamn self then pay a dealer to take car of your car for you.

sounds to me like youll be needing a motor due to cooked head gasket. all locked up no start overheating....next time youll learn,

a rolls royce owner woulnt take his **** to pep boys(same ting for you mon)

good luck my man.
