New GTI

Anyone see the new GTI? i just got my issue of motor trend and honestly it looks really nice...0-60 in 6 seconds and 1/4 mile in 14.5 sec @ 97.1mph....anyone with a g35 scared? Im wondering how the heck a 3200 lbs 200 hp hatchback goes that fast...i mean i love my g35 and the way it looks, much better than any hatchback, but my jaw dropped when i read that....I can believe a GTI would give a g35 a run for its money...any thoughts/

Not really scared being Honda K20 motors are making 200+ NA. I came from the big power FWD scene.

GTI is a awesome car in and out but its a totally diff class Front Wheel VS Rear Wheel def nice cars though!

HP to Weight Ration will always get ya! Just look at all those 11 Second NA Hondas at the track making like 250WHP and weighing in at like 2300lbs.

yea true about them honda's...i love to hate them but my friend has a sick 96 si turbo...kills cars 3x as much hp...so light...I love GTI's but they just come off as high school/college kid car...that's why i love the g35...so much mature looking and performance with technology, and the tuning scene is huge and endless possibilities...

I like how they say painted red calipers are a selling point on the website! Im always against VWs and European autos. The worst cars for maintenance, it always cost so much no matter who you take them to. My gf had a bug and that thing was a maintenance nightmare. Also the Toureg was rated one of the worst for maintenance cost.

My old GTI (supercharged VR6) would blow my G out of the water. I would definitely miss the RWD if I ever went back tho. Also, people complain about how much maintenance crap they have to go thru on the G... Live a year in life with a GTI.

All in all they're some great fun to drive.

I really dislike the way it feels to drive a FWD vehicle! If they ever stop making RWD I'd have to seriously look into AWD....I don't see that happening.
