I have an 04 6MT G Coupe so I have the factory Brembo's. My car is black on black with the 7 spoke 18" factory rims (Performance Wheels Package? I think?).

Anyway, whenever I'm at a stop light, I always see people staring at my front wheels (what I'm assuming is my brakes).

Does this happen to anyone else or am I just going nuts?

 

Yep.

Depending on whether they are car people or not, they are thinking:

1) Sweet brakes, or

2) What the hell are those big gold things

 

For the average joe, its pretty much #2 for that one haha

 

Or they could be checking out the excessive brake dust on your rims. I know my turn black with dust after only a day or two of driving after they have been cleaned.

 

Maybe they are saying why does he have nice brakes and factory rims....thats what I'd say

ever since i put my nismo rims on, lots of ppl been staring at my rims lol.
but i have stock calipers, just waiting untiL i get my Rotora BBk installed

 

I guess it's probably cause they are gold - they stand out a lot more than a red/black BBK.

Well, at least I know why. I always use to feel a bit weird and wondered if maybe something was wrong lol.

 

i was with some people that turned around to look at a g's brakes and i asked them why and one of them said they looked bad(cuz of the color) and the rest said it was a "wannabe bbk".

Ever since I got a set of GT-S's put on, I notice a lot of people pointing at my wheels/brembos on the freeway...even "old" people haha. I mean people who don't look like they're into cars. The GT-S's show more of the brakes, maybe that could be why. I never used to notice people point or stare when I had stock 18s.

I used to stop next to a G and admire the nice brembos (even with the gold finish). I'm not surprised.

It aint a full out bbk but it's worth a stare.

I made sure the G i got had the Brembos. Just does look right without em'. (No offense)

 

Have Stoptech BBK on my G, black calipers, and only people who know what they are seeing stare. The other day though the service guys at my local dealer were drooling at them across the driveway.
