Stock or Mod?

Hello fellow G-enthusiasts! This is my first post here on the forums so I hope I am posting in the correct place. That being said, I also hope someone can help me with my predicament.

I'll start off by saying my dad previously owned this car; A g35 coupe '05 sport edition for which he retired to me after purchasing a porsche cayman. During his ownership, one of the rear quarter panels was hit pretty good, along with the back bumper. My question is.. How much does it normally cost to replace a rear quarter panel and a back bumper?

After that question is solved, would it be of my best interest to buy a kit for the back bumper instead of buying a new stock back bumper? If so, which kits do you recommend and how much do they cost? I would be looking for something sporty, but not too sporty or low.

Thanks in advanced,

Aaron

get a factory rear bumper. you dont want an aftermarket rear especially if the front and sidees are stock..it wont flow well..you can get away with a an aftermarket front and sides with OEM rear but most rears for the g35 are not subtle.

I can take a pic of it in a couple days. I'm up at school right now waiting for all the papers to be transferred over to me

yea stick with oem if you have stock sides. I would only consider an aftermarket if you have an aftermarket exhaust too.

I'm a fan of keeping the exterior relatively stock and doing the mods to the suspension and motor (yeah, I like sleepers).

btw a new bumper alone will cost 300 + another 300 to paint. So just replacing the bumper alone you are looking at 600. If you add in rear quarter panel it might be over 1000. I have a small dent in my rear quarter panel too so I'm dreading the cost to fix. An alternative would be to get a used OEM in the same color save some dough.

1,000 for rear quarter panel including paint job? -or without paint job? Sheesh that's expensive, but a must.

probably a good idea if you can find a totaled g in the junkyard and hopefully, the rear quarter panel is good and the same color.
