I just move to Florida and am staying in a residence inn. I come out to my silver G coupe this morning and drive to the post office. I didn't see initially that my passenger mirror was pushed in. So when I got back I check it out and sure enough 3 horrible dings. It looks like they did it once and thought thats a nice car lets do it again and again. So now I looking for these fools and no luck.. I checked every white car in the lot.. The hotel will not give me the name of any people who chedked out this mornig and of course the cops don't care.. But now on to my question. If they dinged the car 3 times, swapped their white paint, and hit the mirror hard enough to push it in (which the mirror had some light paint swap). Why wouldn't they at least set the mirror back? At least to make it less noticiable. My conclsuion is that they were drunk and were leaving the next morning. What is odd is that my dog started barking at 2:30am this morning. I check outside and it looked like a couple of drunks were being loud and entering their room, which is right accross the hall from me. That room is now vacated. Should I push Residence inn to give me their names.. Hells yeah I say!

Re: Dinged!!!
This reminds me of the time I was moving out of my dorm room back in my college days. This was when I just got my Lexus.. I was going out to hang out with some of my friends and I saw that this jackass was putting something in his rear seat and had his door wide open, pushing against my door. He didn't even notice! His door just kept rubbing up against my closed door and left about a 2 inch long ding. He said it wasn't such a big deal.. blah blah blah.. I can take that right off.. blah blah. I made him give me his information and sent him the bill.

You should definitely try to follow up on who dinged your car. They're not that cheap, hoping that you don't use the "ding king"...

Re: Dinged!!!
lol... I think he's staying at Marriott for the time being while his place gets fixed up. I'm just assuming but that seems like the most reasonable cause...

Re: Dinged!!!
errr!! That sucks big time. I think the sad news is that since
you did not actually witness the bastards damage your
car, you're left with comprehensive insurance coverage.

If the paint is not scratched into the metal, you should
probably just do a paint-less dent removal and buff out
the scratch using ScratchX. It's not worth risking paint
mis-match on smaller damages.

Hope you get your car fixed soon!!
