04 Leather Seats
I just bought a used 04 G35, and i was wondering if i can clean the tan seats with 409 to get off the dirt and stains, and then second coat it with Meguiers Leather Cleaner/conditioner. What is the best way to clean leather on the g35? and what are the best products. Thanks

409 as in Formula 409? It's good for kitchen counter tops but likely too strong a cleanser for finished aniline leather car seats.
A capful of of Murphy's Oil (flax soap) mixed into a bucket of clean luke-warm water is what I use.
Lexol to get more stubborn dirt.
Don't scrub too hard.
And be careful not to use hot water (as that may remove the coating which protects the dye.
Meguiars, Lexol or even some lanolin based hand lotion should work well to protect the leather.
One area to be extra careful is the steering wheel. Sweat from our hands, which is alkaline, gets absorbed into the leather surface of the steering wheel.
Most chemicals will only increase the alkaline PH which could remove the dye.
Lexol leather cleaner is fairly neutral in PH but whatever you use test a small area for dye steadfastness.
Best to use just a water damp cloth on the steering wheel.
