G35 Turbo Question

Hello all!

Quick question - does anyone think that the turbo kit on Ebay is a safe and reliable buy for the price for an 05 G35? I know I still need to purchase the down pipe as they don't include that.

I was planning on getting that then just slowly upgrading it with a bigger front mount inter cooler, better boost controller and maybe bigger turbo. . . but that will be probably towards later this year.

Are those pipping safe?

What do you guys think? My money is towards the body for now but I can squeeze in that turbo if y'all think it's safe and reliable! Let me know! Thanks!

What turbo are you talking about? Link?

I'd be weary of buying something like a turbo kit off of eBay....

1. I think the question you need to ask yourself is "why would I put an ebay turbo kit on my car if i can't even get side markers off ebay that serve their purpose properly?"

2. It's ebay... common man.

3. If you want performance do some damn research on this forum (FI section) and my350z and figure out what the best path is for you. There are endless amounts of answers here and I think I can speak for most, if not all of the rest of the members here saying that you will immediately regret spending the money on an ebay turbo kit should you decide to go that route.

Don't do it. I heard ebay turbos last like less than a month and have no ECU management. Better off getting a used turbo/supercharger kit from this forum or my350z.com.

1) I would never buy any turbo kit off of ebay.

2) The kits on ebay aren't even bolt up kits. They're just random amounts of piping that you have to fab together, plus a crappy turbo and other turbo related parts.

3) There is no such thing as a "safe or reliable" turbo kit. With FI you're always running the risk of blowing your engine or doing damage to other components. "safe" depends largely on how well your ECU is tuned following the addition of FI and even the best tunes aren't fool-proof for things breaking.

4) Prepare to spend AT LEAST $5k for a working FI setup.

5) You obviously need use the search button or jump into the FI section of the forum to learn more about turbocharging. This is really your first post???

6) Do it! What's the worst that can happen? Please post results when completed.

p.s. - sometimes you get confused and would want to do everything but you only have limited time and budget so you go the other route! I know I sound desperate when I said I was going to buy the turbo off of Ebay but thank God I asked 1st!
