What do you guys think the 0-60 time on the 2005 6MT will be?

I know its 298hp but what's the torque going to be?

Sedan or coupe? The reason I'm asking is that the 6mt sedan might actually be faster than the 6mt coupe since the coupe has larger (higher inertia) wheels. It will be real interesting to see the shoot out!

My guess is they'll shave 0.1 seconds off of the already published times. Some magazines will shave off more, and some will report it as slower...

Calculating the weight and engine HP the numbers should be close to the following:

0-60 in 5.3 seconds... 1/4 mile= 13.9 seconds @ 103 MPH

13.9 1/4 mile times seems about right. Considering that infiniti actually changes the plenum design and you'll be able to take full advantage of the 6600 rpm redline.

It always seems a new car comes out and they anounce that it will have X amount of HP and I think wow that thing should do 0-60 and 1/4 in x.x sec. It NEVER seems to turn out that way, the mag test them and they are inevitably at least .5 sec slower than my original thoughts. Hopefully this is the exception. 5.3 and 13.9 would be awsome, but most likely I will see a test in R&T, C&D, MT in about Nov that will say 5.9 & 14.4 and once again I will say, "how can that be, I saw a test of the 04 and it did 5.8! The Porsche 911T is a perfect example, I remember the early 90's (993) turbo best time was 3.6, then the 996T came out and they increased the HP to like 400 and it did 3.9 sec, "what that's slower than the last model", I thought. Anyway, I hope it does CONSISTANTLY 5.5 or below and 14.0. I just saw a test in the Aug R&T and they did a comparison with the RX-8 and the G did 5.9, 14.4 (RX-8 6.1, 14.6). I know these tests are totally dependent on many variables, my rule of thumb is I take the best time from each car, that way I know that when I'm at the line against my bro in his Z that I will take him because now we are at the same altitude and temperature and my car's BEST time is better then his BEST. Anyway I hope you guys are right, I've got my 6mt DG on order, can't wait until dec, that will be a fun christmas present to myself!

PS. R&T said the RX-8 won that test, what a joke!

 

Yeh I'm ordering my Black one .... I wanted the (STONE) or grey interior but they don't offer that interior color with black exterior....stupid.

I forgot what magazine it was but I do remeber reading a time of 5.4 for the coupe and 5.5 for the 350Z convertble.
