Cool Sometimes you gotta see things in the bright side...

Long story short- I crashed my G. I totalled this dude's ugly Pontiac Firebird and all I got is a broken bumper, headlight, and fender. It was my fault, and my insurance will go up a bit.

Damn, time to weep. Or is it? My insurance gave me an estimate of $2200, with the deductible already taken out.

The first thought in my mind was, how can I get something out of this? Well, I thought why not get a Nismo bumper, some fresh 06-07 projectors, and get a big door dent fixed, all with the $2200?!?

Seems like a great idea! I found a shop that is pretty good. They agreed to order my bumper and headlights and fix my door for the whole $2200. So I'm getting all that without paying the deductible.

I'm thinking, well I'm gonna pay more in insurance now, so why not enjoy it? hehe

So you smashed the other car up on purpose? You better delete this thread. Insurance Agents visit forums all the time to catch people running insurance scams.

I'm in the same situation you are in bud, except it wasn't my fault, guy backed into me so all the "mod money" coming out of guys insurance company pocket.

I'm getting new paint on the front end (already got Nismo) prolly gonna paint rims and headlights as well.

Just what my G needed.

Sucks for the couple days/weeks that you have to drive the G hurt. But in the end it'll all work out. I had my STi stolen and I must admit I was pretty pissed. My daughter was even pissed cause her blanket and booster seat was in it. But in the end all went well and I ended up with a G. -=)

jibberjabbers- no. why would I want my insurance to go up?

Joker - nice, I hear good things about the nismo one. Plus my friend Rajiv has it and its sweeeet. BTW thats a sick avatar hahaha

Ihierbal- yea, i hate seeing it. It looks like a car version of scar from Lion King mixed with arnold in terminator when his mechanics are showing in his face. But yea, i don't mind ppl looking at it and goin nuts, it'll be fixed soon (there aren't many G's in Virginia Tech so the few stand out).

Just found out yesterday that the check can be made out to my dad! this means I dont HAVE to use a shop solely because it will do a side job, and focus more on which shop does a better job. I hope the extra prep work isn't too much extra cash /:
