around 1800rpm, i hear a strange noise... like a "wahhh' sound... maybe from the cat? i have 500 miles on my car. any ideas?

Seriously, the coupe's stock exhaust sound is mean! [img]/w3timages/icons/tongue.gif[/img] If you think there is something amiss, take her to the dealership and have it looked at.

HAHA, i know the exhaust sound... but there is another little sound other than the exhaust note. it appeared within the last hundred miles.

Dealer acknoledges there is a strange noise present... but said "bring it back when it gets worse... i cant figure it out"...WTF!

This is your ABS charging.
Its normal all G35s have it. Nothing to do with rpm but with speed. It will happen averytime you start your car. If you have a alight incline turn off your car and then start it agin and let it roll down on the incline without uprev (stay below 1000rpm)you will still hear the sound as soon as you hit 7 mph.

Thanks, i will try that tomorrow. should it only happen once after starting? cause if this is the case... i have a different issue cause the sound can be continuously repeated regardless of restarted or not.

Everytime you start the engine ABS will charge once you hit 7mph limit. Should not happen repeatedly. If it is repeatable once you start the car you may have a different problem, take it to the dealer.
