something thats really bugging me...HELP!

Hi, im new to this forum, and im actually not much experienced in writing in forums...but i saw this site and i loved it.
Anyway straight to the point, i have a 2005 infiniti G35 coupe with sports suspension package (19" rims, NAV...), my friend who has a 2003 G35 coupe drove my car the other day and told me that his car drifts much much nicer, he even gets wheelspin at takeoff...However, he said that my car is much nicer to drive, cuz the suspensions are amazing and is smoother in cornering...
So my question is...is there something wrong with my car? or is this just normal?
Thank you for your time

He's probably running much smaller tires and rims. I could spin the sh*t out of 17s if I had them on my car.

I'm sure your car is fine. Our cars are too heavy to be drifting anyway.

i did drive his car, and its true it does drift much nicer, which is why im wondering if the 2005 models especially with this package installed just came out smoother and just doesnt drift as much...or probably my wheels are too big...or is somethings wrong with my car

yes he is driving on 17s..but does it make that much of a difference? at first i thought it was the differential or even not getting much power due to the catalytic converter screwing up

Our Infiniti G35s are luxary coupes, that said if you want a car to drift find one that weighs 1K pounds less gutted. Like the previous member mentioned, drive his car and form your own opinion don't believe his....

One difference between an 03 and an 05 is that the 03 (and 04) models have much softer rear suspension. In 05 they upped the stiffness by literally 25%.

Also, getting wheelspin at takeoff is all relative. All depends on the surface you are driving on, how good your tires are and how worn your tires are.

Also, do you both have 6MTs or both 5AT's or is one a MT and the other an AT? That makes a huge difference as well. 6MT's typically have more power than 5ATs not to mention you can just dump the clutch off the line if you want wheelspin... I've never seen Brembo's with 17" rims so I'm inclined to assume his 03 is a 5AT. 17's should actually provide more forward traction but less responsive handling due to sidewall flex, so it makes sense he says yours corners nicer but it doesn't make sense that he can get wheelspin easier.

As the members have said above, the G's are luxury coupes and are a bit heavy for going sideways, but it's actually received lots of accolades as being one of the most forgiving cars when it comes to getting drifting (it's consistent and predictable).

Really? You guys are judging a stock luxury 4 seater on it's driftability?

I feel like I'm saying this a lot lately, but you didn't buy a sports car if you had, you would refer to it as your Z, not your G.

He's running 17s and you're running 19s. Even though the 17s are heavier, they still have less rotating mass. Which means it takes them much less time to get from where they start all the way back around. This also means they will break loose easier and spin, great for launching (nawt)

Tell him to stop being a newb and buy some nice wheels that don't look like ****, park them beside each other and tell me which one looks better. I hate to tell you this, but these cars are all looks with a little bit of performance. They aren't fast by any means, so unless you're going to go forced induction make it look good and don't worry about it's power and driftability. (you'll probably crash it, so buy a junker for that)

Not trying to be a dick, just sayin'
