Tonight I was driving around and randomly twice my dome light turned on. I can assure you the doors were not open or anything. Both times I was driving and I came to a red light when it turned on. The dome is set to door.

What do you guys think? I just got the car lets say 2 weeks ago and this is the only weird issue iv seen so far

 

you didn't name your car "christine" did you?

 

No way it's a Christine, she would have played 50s tunes and locked the doors.... The dome light coming on indicates to me there's a short in
the light or one of the door switches. You may want to have someone check it out before your car catches fire.

Now whenever I unlock the car with the fob, get in and turn the car on, the dome light stays on. I have to manually turn the dome switch from door to off then back to door to turn it off.

I undid the thing i did recently to the car (ran the power wire from battery to amp) because that's the only thing I could think of, but no luck.

 

Did you check the door switches?

How do you think the light come on when you open the doors....magic? Automobiles for the past 70 years have had door swithes that activate the dome light when the door is open, shuts it off when it's closed. That's why he's asking if the door switches were checked, once in a great while they fail.

haha no i know that it has something to turn the dome lights on, but this morning i discovered it only sometimes turns on when my foot is pressing on the break. I was driving in rush hour and was riding the break a lot, and whenever I applied pressure to the break it turned on and when I took my foot off it either stayed on for longer or turned off.

a grand cherokee i had would do that when i was goin over bumps and stuff. lol good thing is those switches were adjustable so i pulled em out and problem fixed
