Hello!
Hello!
Hello my name is Brendon and I’ve been lurking around this site for the past couple of years and finally decided to create an account. It all started three years ago when my father and I picked up a 2005 MT Coupe to road race with SCCA. He drove the car a few times and this year I got to take over! It’s classed in Touring 2 which has a strict rules set; besides a full cage and a mostly stripped interior we are allowed to run any shocks we want, NISMO springs, swaybars, PS/Oil coolers, the brake duct kit, and Brembo’s (which are currently installed). We still need re-flash the ECU, and install test pipes. The car is a blast to drive and the VQ sounds awesome at full song. I took it out for my first race of the season at Buttonwillow Raceway Park and did quite well. I just have to get used to the car as I started out driving FWD VWs. Any way enough rambling, I just wanted to introduce myself.

Looks awesome!! Ever consider doing a stand alone ecu instead of a flash? Then again, since its strictly a race car, I guess that wouldnt be necessary. However, a stand alone sure would give you plenty of areas for you modify on the fly.
Thanks for all the kind words, I’m very lucky to have the opportunity to drive the car this year. My best time for the weekend was a low 2.19 on configuration 1 CCW and to my surprise I set a course record for the class too. My next event is May 15-16 at Buttonwillow again. I’m not planning on doing any time attack events right now but I might be there at the next one. In regards to the ECU, it would be better to go stand alone but it’s not allowed in the class. The car still needs adjustments but not as much as the driver. I need to get comfortable with the car because right now I’m the slowest part of the equation.
