looking at buying in the club
I was going to do a greddy s/c kit on the celica, but prices were adding up real quick, once u decide to go with a standalone, ahh man, i don't want to get into it. Long story short, max boost on a stock 2zz motor is 7ibs. Anymre = bye bye piston.
im craving more power so looking at buying a low mileage 1st gen, 6spd manual coupe. Is there any particular years to avoid? Whats the best year to get. Dont know much but were the 03 throttle cable then the newer ones all dbw??
Also does the ecu on these cars throw a code when u go with a cai, or change out the exhaust? Celica ecus are very finicky.
All my plans for a g35 would be aem intake, borla stainless headers, greddy evoII duals, then a nice set of work vs-kf fein heit silvers. A thing of beauty.

If I could go back, I would have probably waited around and picked up an 05 or newer, simply to get the RevUp engine, which packs a bit more power, and responds better to breather mods than the 03/04s do. Def wait till you buy the car b4 deciding your mods, because once you do a bit of research I'm sure you'll want to go with a slightly different route. ECUs don't really throw codes, at least from MY experience. G'Luck
So far I m aware of theres a shuttervalve problem with some models. My 06 v-10 f250 did the same thing man. it would pump like $2 worth than the pump would click off
And also something to do with an oil leak by the spark plugs??
Thanks for the info. Im still hashing it out with dealers. Im not going to take a huge loss on it with all the bolt ons I have on her and low mileage, The celica is a great looking car, 180 hp is not too bad, can easily be approved upon with some bolt ons, but the lack of torque kills me.
Just doing research, I've always been a fan of g35s and 350zs, and I absolutely hate cocky mustang owners.
Whats the best size exhaust to run if u plan on n/a only mods? 3" too big, is 2.5" better? I have a 2.5" exh on the celica, runs really well but i needed to run a 02 sim to prevent it from throwing a cel. Whats the best dyno proven headers to get for these whips? I noticed theres quite a selection out there.
Also as far as intakes go, whats the best size piping. 3" or 2.75"??

Nice i used to drive 00 gt celica. I Loved it. my sister drives it now. i've moved on up and upgraded to the G35. now when i drive around i scoff in a condescending manner whenever i see RSX's, Eclipes, tibuerons, civics,ne riced out car. pretty much ne 4 cylinder coupe and especially Scion tc's which i see about 234234234 a day goin to and from school driven by douche bags and grls smoking cigarettes. But not celica's ! which i dont see to often. As for all ur questions i really no nothing about that stuff so i cant help ya.
Around here the douches like mustangs (from fox bodys all the way up to 2010 models), and my all time fav, retards that think their stock 2wd chev short box with cherry bombs is the fastest thing around.
Yea unfortunately the stealerships aren't playing ball with me. I hate talking to those greasy ****s always trying to rip people off. They overprice their cars, and try to low ball u on a trade in like the cars just a regular car. Espessially when u got 5k in high end parts on it. Its hard not to slap a salesman.
Anyways im done trying to trade and dealing with idiots that just want to take the car for a joy ride and not actually buy it. So i think im just going to run the aem ems, tune the vvt, and run the stock greddy pulley. Should be good for 210-220 whp for now till can afford low comp pistons than turn up the boost. 210 whp in a car thats 1000ibs lighter than the g35 aint bad. S/c will help the 2zz torque curve.
Eventually though g35 with custom exh, coilovers, nice rims, thing of beauty man, its going to be mine
Later y'all
Still the g35 with some bolt ons man, damn.....

If I could go back I would've left this car stock except for my black grille and debadging...oh wait! That's exactly what my car looks like
One of the beautiful things about this car is that it's fine the way it comes.
