High speed noise

I was going 100 mph yesterday and i heard a squeaking sound coming from the front of the car. Has anyone else heard this. Is it just wind?

Re: High speed noise

Nope.. Sometimes the auto dimming rear view mirror makes a buzzing noise at high speed though. Peace.

Dunno, sounds like a dealer visit to me. Post what you found out.

Re: High speed noise

Since you guys are havin a laugh over what poor dealers must think I'll pass this one along- true story.
My G had a shudder, really pronouced at anything over 100 (as a Canadian, I'll convert to mph since I'm in the minority here). I knew my Pilots were out of balance from the factory, especially the rear right I thought. I told the guys at the dealership. The salesman and service manager both smile and laugh knowingly. The manager says "hmm, we can't test over the posted speed limit of 50 or 60 on the freeway. For it to be covered under warrantee, we need to be able to verify your claim." With a smile he asks "Would you say there's a shudder between 50 and 60?", to which I replied in my most Homer Simpson-esque voice, "MMMmmmyeessss. There is a shudder between 50 and 60- it could be the balance on the tires. "Right-o sir" he says with a wink "we'll take care of for you, we'll get it washed for you, here's your loaner, sorry to cause any inconvenience and we'll see you shortly." Sure enough, all four were out of balance, the right rear the worst. )
So I guess I'd ask, freeagenttd20, would you say that you can hear that whistling between 50 and 60???? ;o)

Hey btw, does anyone else get a slight buffetting above 135 when there's a headwind ) yeah, me too!

Re: High speed noise

Ummmm... Hold it with your left hand, he he. I have to talk to the dealer. It's in for repairs to the bumper they f$#ked up right now. I will call mention it to them. I haven't seen anything yet though on the forum. It's so annoying though, damn it! I'll let ya know if I find something.

Re: High speed noise

Wow, you guys must have little traffic to be taking it up to 100+. Down here you can barely get over 60 without some old lady cutting ya off or running in to rush hour traffic!

Re: High speed noise

How often are you driving over 100mph?

My father's caddy whistled at 55-65mph ... added some weather stripping around the hood to hold down the plastic above the fan shrowd and that took care of his problem.
