Re: High speed noise

When I first bought the car I bought it at night. I think I might have mentioned it to you when we were at the tint shop. So I did not notice until after I got the car in good light that some bozo sales person had hit the car with another car puncturing the plastic on the rear of the bumper. They ordered a new one and had it painted here in the US by a local body shop. I had just picked it up a day before I got it tinted. Well after giving it a good wash I found that the paint work was garbage. The clear coat was not buffed correctly or somethin so in certain types of light it has an obvious hue differance from the original paint. Also after close inspection I found several small pinholes in the paint along the top edge of bumper. I was sooooooo pissed. So I took the car back in this monday and cussed out the service manager. He said they will send it back over to the body shop. They are also replacing the rim that was chipped by the dealership as well and cleaning that damn grease streak that keeps appearing on the drivers side window everytime I roll it down. WHew! I hope this car doesn't have some kind curse on it. = (

I get that whistling noise too. It happens a lot when there's strong cross winds on the freeway. I think it really can be duplicated at 65mph. I still can't find where it's comming from. Anyone know where? I sounds like it's comming from the right rear or sun roof.

Canadian highways- if I take the highway to work, it's really tough not to crack 160 (km/h= 100mph) leaving the on ramp. 225 (139) is the most open road so far- modest buffetting, quiet conversation, one hand on the wheel stuff- very impressive composure. Had a Mustang that was a mess well before that and a VW Corrado that was relaxed but noisy at same (maxed out too for the Corrado). I'm not willing to chance someone changing lanes while I'm zipping by with a closure rate equal to the posted speed limit, which limits the fun. Came across a new 5 series with the M pack (not repeat not an M5, just a 540 with the M sport package). While I'm confident the G wouldn't stand a chance in a dash from a standstill, in a downshift and roll-on from 120 to 180, he took a tantrum, picked up his toys and went home in my rearview around 165 (km/h).
