headlight and tail light restoration

Hey all, i took a european class for auto refinishing on various surfaces and here are some results before and after photos

headlights before (notice the oxidation and hazing)





and some after shots of the final product (stage 5 finish on it)





process used is a wetsand with 5 different types of finish

next project in the comming 2 weeks will be a complete leather interior restoration, and also a complete interior redye on a 1998 bmw m3 from black to cinnamon orange from the e46 smg m3

cool, thanks for sharing, work looks good... but you should have taken the taillights out it would have been easier plus less risk of damaging the car. It takes literally a few minutes to take them out.

well what you didn't see is that i had the paint all taped off and sealed

Looks great, I def. need some work on my headlights, taillights are fine, but my headlights might as well be called fog lights because of how foggy they are right now. Sorry i missed your f-book message, my grandparents came over for a visit lol.

Quick question, did you have take off your bumper to work on the headlights or were you were able to keep it on?

oh i left the bumper on and taped it off around the headlights so i didn't damage the paint

Looks very good...I used the 3m kit and it came out nice also.

the 3m kit works decent enough but if you want that next level of finish this i can make a writeup if you all would like on how i did mine, and how i was tought throughout auto refinishing classes and specialists
