Clunking sound when opening and closing doors
Have any of you experienced a "clunking" sound when opening or closing either the driver or passenger doors? Both doors on my G make a soft clunking sound twice as the door opens wider and wider. It sounds like it's behind the door panel.
Any ideas?

I also have heard this clunking sound whenever I open the driver's door. I can't really locate where exactly it is but there seems to be nothing loose, just the hinges making sounds I guess? I have yet to see if my passenger door makes the same sound.

Re: Clunking sound when opening and closing doors
There is a "strap" in the middle of the door at the hinges that has varying thicknesses. This allows you to have tension on the door at a couple of places so it'll stay put. That may need lubrication. More likely, the hinges are creaking, which could cause the noise/vibration to actually come from the door skin. Lube it or have your dealer lube it next service.
If you think it's the windows, which should only be at the point of open/close, just put the windows in the completely down position and test it.
