So if you got a new engine because of OC (I did a few months ago) and the car went out of warranty due to age or mileage, would the new engine still be under warranty for 5 years or 70,000 miles after they replaced it? My car is an 05 and I forgot to ask them about this at the dealership.

I know it's new but is it the same crappy motor or is it revised? Meaning, upgraded rings and pistons. (different internals)...

If they didn't revised the stupid motor, then expect the same crap to happened.

This is a revised motor.
I'll update if anything else happens.

was wondering the same thing. I'm a big gm guy and I'm replacing my beater with a g35 because its burning a hell of a lot of oil. I might be turned away from imports completely if I spend big money to replace my beater just to have a good condition expensive used import do the exact same thing.

Is this common with these engines? Also can someone clear up a few things for me, I hear the term rev-up engine used alot. Did the G35 coupe's come with two different engines from the factory? If so what are the differences?

Since you have a revup you should get the oil consumption test just in case. A decent percentage of revups have this problem.

5AT almost never have this issue. I have had my car over a year and havent had any issues with the engine and its at 70k now.

revup = 05-07 VQ35DE 6mt (298hp 260lb torque)
nonrevup = 5AT (280hp 270lb torque)

IIRC they never were able to solve the revup oil consumption problem.

dang bro sorry to hear that, but congrats on the 2nd motor. this is a first for me, never heard of 2 motors. but maybe you should consider pulling it and swapping to the VK45de (i know thats doable) or maybe to the VQ37de (not sure if thats doable in the g35 bay) bc my car is at 130k and should something happen to the motor i doubt i would go back with the VQ35. just my thoughts - none the less, wish you the best with you G!

Let me just make sure I understand this correctly. The M6 came with the rev up and the A5 came with the none revup in every year or just 05 and up? Thanks for the help.
