Newbie wants to purchase - Need Advice

Whats up all - first off, I have been faithfully reading this forum for a long time now, but I did not want to post as I don't have a g35. I went to the dealership today and I want to make this happen, I would just like some help with the decision. Here goes....

2004 IP 6mt Premium Pkg (navi, etc.) with 18 miles on it (which I put 17 on it during the test drive... which can only be described as sex on wheels). I just graduated from college in May, so I can get the "graduate loan plan." With 10k down (38K sticker price) my monthly payment would be around 445 a month for 72 months. I know its a long time to finance, but I should have it paid off way before 6 years. I am located in North VA (Tysons Corner dealer for those that are familiar with the area) and no, my parents aren't helping me pay for this. What do you guys think? Any advice would be appreciated.

Do you have a good, steady job? if yes, go for it. If not,
might want to look for cars more in the $20K range.

Hmmm, 38k .... I got mine in Nov last year and got it for 36 OTD taxes lic doc included I would think 2004's should be going for less than 38k now since the 2005's are comming out soon. If you go in with a firm deal and have 10k cash on hand and tell them that what deal YOU want, slap the cash on the table and say "do we have a deal?"... if they say no then you have to be prepared to walk away and find it somewhere else. Cash has a powerful way about it. I put 17K down on the table and actually picked it up and got to the front door before the manager stopped me and gave me the deal I wanted.

I agree with Kenchan. $445/month is pretty steep for just graduating out of college. But on the other hand if you got a job lined up and it pays well, go for it. Otherwise it may be wise to look for a car between $20-25K. BTW, whats your APR......

Stay away from Rosenthal! I got my first G there and it was a horrible experience. Passport did me right the second time around....I'd go there.

What he said. I also had a nightmare experience at Rosenthal and ended up buying at Passport.

Re: Newbie wants to purchase - Need Advice

Just curious guys, why was Rosenthal bad? They have been very helpful with me so far, so I am kinda wondering what is up.

For everyone else - yeah, I have a decent job, making enough to cover payment/insurance/rent/and everything else. My friends think I'm crazy, but after I test drove that car I knew I had to have one. - a little sacrifice is worth the reward of owning IMO one of the most beautiful cars out there right now.
