Buying coilovers while in China?

I'm studying abroad in Shanghai, China over the summer and might try to find some coilovers to drop my G. Do you guys think they sell performance car parts for cheap over there? How would I know its good quality?

No, haha. I'm going to China to study and thought I should try to find some coilovers over there to bring back since they'll probably be cheaper.

Depends. If it's really cheap, I would pass it. As the springs may not be heat treated, or they may use crappy *** materials. And the springs will crack over time.

I would stick with brand name parts. Especially on something as important as the suspension. Your life and passengers depends on it.

^ I don't trust China either, but any hardcore car modder would import parts from Japan just like here, Europe, Dubai, Singapore etc etc etc.

Therefore, i would say theres quality stuff in China imported from Japan.

But.... why bother when you can easily make a stop at Japan to have all the options possible? lol

plus, just go to a nissan dealership, and you can pick up some sweet jdm parts that lots of people here are dying to have.

I'm assuming they would be reasonably cheaper in Japan, right?

well you never know with today's economy..

but technically yeah, since you're saving with import taxes and stuff.

Most likely not that much cheaper, when I was in Japan I was looking at HKS coils, other name brand parts and price wasn't much different. Not even factoring in how much you will pay to bring it back with you, and the hassle.
