damn u motor upgrades.....

So now that im getting exhaust i thought about throwing some cams in. BC stage 2 with springs and retainers. Are cams worth the price? The web site specs say 20 - 25hp gains.

Would i have to pull the heads off for the install? If so while im that far in i might as well replace the piston rings too (suggested by the mechanic doing the install). If the mechanic pull the motor then i might as well swap out the clutch and throw out bearing.

Would the stock ECU be able to handle a combo of: Plenum space, ztube, cams and exhaust? If not then what kind of ecu tuning would i need? Osiris maybe? I dont have a dyno available.

Damn u motor upgrades... Damn u...

If youre doing springs & retainers then you will have to pull the heads, the easiest way is to put the car in service position and yank the whole motor (you're right this would be a good time to change your clutch & throwout bearing.)

If ur going as far as cams, U will need a tune on that engine. Even with headers U will need a tune to run the car right and get full potential of ur upgrades.
I recommend a tune that u can tune on the dyno and improve ur gains.
Osiris works really good for that.

Looks like ima do the exhaust and plenum spacer first. Im gona pick up the cams and research more on the osiris or cobb self tune since thats all ill be able to do with them. Or some type of general map for the mods im using.

You're getting way ahead of yourself, start with intake..spacer..exhaust..test pipes or HFCs and then find a shop that will give you a dyno tune. Before you do the cam thing consider that all manufactures embellish what their products will do, like 10+ HP for intakes as an example.

Before you buy all this stuff you should look in to who can install and tune everything for you.

Already done. My guys here at George N Sons are going to be doing the installs and tuning. Worst case scenario run it without the cams and tune for everything else with the osiris. Well see what UpRev says once i get the unit.

Lee R is absolutely correct.

after removing my heads, I can tell you it's a major pain in the @$$ to remove the cams. It's BEST to leave that to an Infiniti/Nissan dealership or a mechanic you can trust.

In addition to cams, you have to tune the car to see those "20+ ponies"

A quick install alone will not net you those gains and may cause more conflict than success. Your Idle may need to be bumped up as well, and if I am not mistaken you also have to upgrade the valvetrain to work well with the camshafts.
