IT'S OFFICIAL.....questions however
I NOW OFFICIALLY OWN THE 2004 G35 COUPE 6MT W/ PREMIUM AND AERO PACKAGE....THIS CAR IS EVERYTHING THAT EVERYONE HAS RAVED ABOUT AND MORE (TO SAY THE LEAST).....THE CAR RIDES OR RAILS....I HAVE NEVER SEEN HEADLIGHTS DISAPPEAR FASTER IN MY REARVIEW MIRROR THAN THEY DO IN THIS CAR.. I am also having a hard time keeping it under 4k revs...I have been over a few times already... I hope this will not have a real adverse impact on the car.
One thing I am having trouble with....I cant seem to get the double clutching down quick enough or smooth enough....Anyone have any tips...
Also has anyone noticed this: Especially when the car is in 6th gear...As I accelerate and when i take my foot off the gas, I notice the gear shifter move slightly...(It moves back slightly as I accelerate, and when my foot is off the pedal, it moves forward in the same degree...Is that a problem).
Please give me your feedback, and also let me know if there are any thing else I should be wary of with my G.... I LOVE IT.

Re: IT'S OFFICIAL.....questions however
Another question....This morning, I let the car warm up a lil bit before I left... But as I am pulling out of my complex.... I hear a high pitched beep that lasted about 4 seconds....This was happening as I was going slow, and approaching a speed bump....The noice went off twice. Any idea what that meant...
Finally....when I left the dealership....the tire pressure warning light was on, but the guy at the dealer said that the tires were fine, and that it just needed to be reset.... I have not had the opportunity to go back yet, but could there be a correlation to the light and the beeping noise?

Re: IT'S OFFICIAL.....questions however
It even happens with the ATs... it's the engine moving back and forth when accelerating or decelerating.

Re: IT'S OFFICIAL.....questions however
I just drove it off the dealership on Sunday....and before I left, I noticed that the tire pressure light was on....and i asked them about this....they said that the tires were fine, and that it probably just needed to be reset....But I have not been back to the dealership yet.
Re: IT'S OFFICIAL.....questions however
Also, anyone have anytips for improving my double clutching....I read somewhere that downshifting without double clutching has a serious adverse affect on the engine....Is this true? What type of damage, because I have done that a few times already.
Re: IT'S OFFICIAL.....questions however
you don't need to double clutch, you need to rev-match.
If you don't rev match, you're killing your clutch.

Re: IT'S OFFICIAL.....questions however
Double clutching was traditionally used when downshifting with a non-syncro transmission. If you didn't double-clutch, you would be greeted by a loud grinding noise. Today, double clutching is usually reserved for big rigs (although not all) and racing trannys with straight-cut gears (which can also be used with NO clutch).
Rev-matching, however, is beneficial when downshifting. A 'blip' on the throttle to bring the revs up to about where they would be in the lower gear reduces clutch wear dramatically.
"Heel-and-toe" is doing this while braking at the same time. You put the lower part of your foot on the brake and use the ball of your foot on the gas pedal to 'blip' it to match the revs.
I hope this helps
