Birthday and Vandalism

Hello all, I'm supper suppper pissed right now, so please bare with me. First of all its my Birthday today, Seriously, it is June 10. anyways, I secondly had to work 2 jobs today for a total of 13 hrs, no big deal, i'm glad to work and make some bucks.

At my second job however someone was nice enough to wish me a happy birthday by kicking my passenger door twice causing 2 door dings. Reason I know it was kicked or punched is cause theres marks all over it cause i hadn't washed my car and it had just rained, and secondly because someone left a nice loogie on my window.

Anyways, i'm wondering, what is the cost generally on repairing door dings and is it permanent or is the door more susceptable to more door dings in the future?

And no, i don't know who it was that did it, none of my friends would do that kind of a thing to my car.

When it comes to body work there's really no set price for repairs. It all depends on the damage.

Wow. Sorry to hear.

Happy Birthday I guess.

You should probably invest in some sort of impact sensor for the alarm so it goes off when people do this kind of stuff.

Anyone out to get you?

I'm sure the dents had nothing to do with your Birthday, just someone out to get you (or just some random guy that is jealous of your car).

Depends on how bad the dents are. Try contacting a paintless dent removal company.

It always depends, and it also depends if the paint was damaged. Since it wasn't hit with a hammer there's good chance that it can be repaired and not visible.

I would be more worried about parking in the same spot after you fix your car

The only way you're going to be able to tell anything was repaired is if the shop does a half-assed job and doesn't smooth out the panel well enough. In that case you'll see some slight "waving" of the metal/paint when viewed from an angle. Any reputable shop should be able to fix it without having these issues. When it comes to body paint and repair, you really do get what you pay for in most cases.

Vandalism sucks, but if the damage isn't too noticeable (as you did write ding, not dent), I would leave it alone. You would never know when a jackass would ding your doors in a parking lot. Try detailing to get the scuff marks from the kicks/punches- probably kicks because that sonuvabitch would've been wearing shoes.
