Aftermarket Shift knob & leather boot connection?
Aftermarket Shift **** & leather boot connection?
I’ve just removed my shift **** last night, probably was the hardest stock shift **** I’ve ever removed considering other Japanese cars you just simply unscrew.
Anyways since our factory shift **** has quite a large base, I’ve noticed this has left the leather a bit marked up, plus there is no ring or clamp to hold the leather together. I know people have been using zip ties to keep the boot up, which is a great suggestion.
My question is how many of you have figured out a way to make a smooth/joining appearance where the leather (per boot) meets the base of the aftermarket ****. I know from a distance it appears ok, but when you look closer you can notice a not so professional connection. Is their a simple solution to create a flush look?
Pics please too?
Assuming I’m using a standard Nismo shift ****.
Thanks in advance.
