Need new battery. Which one should I get?

I have heard that Interstate is good, but I want to get others opinion here. I searched the forum and found one thread where someone mentions that Interstate and AutoZone batteries are the same. I did my research (wikipedia) and learned that Duralast and Interstate batteries are both made by Johnson Controls.

The question is, since Interstate is a brand name and they specialize only in batteries, do you think they are better?

Thanks

I went to lunch and my car started. I had to jump start it this morning. It is a little slow starting so I'll need a new battery soon. I'll wait a couple months and then get one.

My battery kept on dying so I got a new one. I got the Duralast (not the Gold one). It's a good thing I saw the DIY for it. I didn't know you had take out the panel from the windshield. It was very easy to do. My old battery was OEM. The 2 contact points were nice and clean. So I got the battery protectant gel to keep it that way. I used to think the battery protectant was a scam

So others who are reading this, check the DIY on this forum on how to replace the battery and don't forget to get the battery protectant gel. The small pouch I got from AutoZone has enough for 3 batteries.

panel from the windshield?

thats all I did (which took 2 mins if that) remove the battery cover, unhook the battery and it came out.

I've always used autozone batteries. (not the expensive ones)

I've got an interstate right now and have had them in the past and I've never had a problem. I would 100% buy another one in the future aswell. Runs my 2 12" subs like a champ lol.

The red top costs 2x more than duralast gold. They both have the same length for the warranty. Is optima's warranty different? I know duralast has 2/3 year free replacement. Then it is pro-rated up to 7/8 years. Is optima the same? If it is the same then I don't see how it is worth it. If optima had free replacement for 7/8 years, then I can understand. So far I am unconvinced.

As someone else stated on this forum, Duralast and Interstate are made by the same company, so they are the same. We've put Duralast batteries in a couple of our cars and haven't had a problem so far.
