Just got my G35 about two months ago. It is automatic though, but fully loaded with 19' inch rims. At first, I did not want to mod this car, but I guess the bug got to me. Just bought a set of SSR VF1 wheels, and now I am thinking to get some mods to get this car to about 300hp. Like I said this car is automatic, and should I still sup it up with mods? Any ideas?
you can get to 300hp at the crank but 300 whp will be very very difficult. stock autos usually only hit 220-230 on dynos. If I had to do it again I would have just stopped at plenum spacer and ztube and saved my money for aesthetic mods.
I would suggest an intake, plenum spacer or manifold, HFC's or ART test pipes, an aggressive set of cams and a tune. I'm sure that would break the 300 mark.
I guesstimate I'm around 300hp/290tq at the crank but if I can start over again I would have done the above. The cams will be expensive but from what I hear their worth it.
Your probably better off going FI, SC kits are cheap. You can spend thousands trying to get the car to 300hp on an N/A setup, or you can have a SC installed and tuned for under 6K with much better results.
BTW - his car is 280hp/270tq stock

Yes folks, automatic G35 is at 280hp with 270 torque. Thanks for the info. Another question, I was looking into forced induction, maybe turbo or sc. Again my car is atuomatic, should I go for it?

You will need a valve body upgrade for the transmission (Transgo). There's nothing wrong with going FI on an automatic. The autos don't loose as much boost in between shifts compared to the manuals. The only thing is our engines won't produce as much power safely as the rev-ups do when boosted.
You have the non-revup. I don't know what differentiates between the two engines, but I think all automatics have the non-revup. 05 and up manuals have the rev-up.
I think that the manual transmissions have some sort of rev up light that goes on the cluster right?!? Anyhow, need some more info on transgo? How much would this cost, because getting a turbo or sc is already about 6k plus install.
$700-900 with install. The kit itself only costs about $270.
^ That all depends on how much money you want to drop on your setup. You can have 600+whp if you can afford it. I think the cheapest vortech gets you a little over 300 whp safely.
OP, I suggest doing A LOT of reading on FI before you even consider it.
