This.

Lucky for you, the engine was still able to turn over. Try taking out the air filter and drying it. Dont turn on your car for a few days to let it dry off.

+1 let your car dry thoroughly before turning it over. Probably got water on your alternator and your MAF.

I just checked the filter and it is indeed wet... Should I just wait for it to dry or replace it? Can I use a blow dryer and blow into the air filter to dry it??

It wouldn't fully dry it. I'd take the filter off and not touch the car at least over night.

I don't know how much it takes to hydro lock the engine but just be grateful you didnt do that..all I have to say to you sir is .

Yeah I know I know, I feel like an idiot.

Should I leave the battery unconnected over night too?

After I disconnect the battery should I still try to manually clear the codes by using this method?

I bet my left nut that your IPDM got wet. (Fuse box behind the battery)

lol OP you are suppose to mist a light coat of water at most in the engine bay and cover stuff up thats not suppose to get wet. What guide told you, you can just dump tons of water on it?
