Hello guys,

well here i am again with my 2003 sedan and another problemo! About 6 months ago had some issues with the car. Would start and then car would go into safe mode....vdc lights, brake lights, batter lights.....dash lit up like a xmas tree. Long story short, battery was the culprit. About a week ago i noticed the battery light and emergency brake light coming on and off. Would come off when i cam e to a stop; and then would go away once i started going again. Yesterday was hott here so i started the car up ( No prolems at all ) started driving and cranked on the AC. Then about 5 min later, car went into safe mode and all dash lights lit up again. I barely made it to the side of the road and turned off the car. Let it sit for about 20 min and started it up again with no problems and parked in a parking lot 1 min away ( no lights or anything in the dash ). I went back later that evening with my wife to get the car. Started it up and and drove home with no prolems or lights on the dashboard. I parked it in the driveway and decided to do a test by turning on the AC while sitting in the driveway and syre enough the lights all came on again.

Questions: Is it safe to assume that this would be the alternator. Seems like anytime there is load ( radio, fan, ac eyc the lights come on ).

I was told my belts need replacing ( AC and fan ). Could bad belts cause this problem. The belts still turn but have several cracks in them.
