Haha! I agree! The STi interior, except for the gauge cluster, is NOT where any of the money went. If it doesn't really serve to enhance the driving experience, then it was overlooked. 2004 STi's didn't even come standard with a stereo. The fit and finish and squeaks and rattles in the STi make the G35 look like an Audi. But again, the 2008+ saw some big changes towards comfort just like the 2007 G35 to 2008 G35 transition.

What are you talking about? You G doesn't squeak or rattles? Even though there are over 90 TSB's issued for the G35 coupe. And half of them involved squeaks and rattles. lol

Not nearly as much as the STi! Got to remember that the general Infiniti owner are probably more **** when it comes to this stuff than the typical STi owner since they are expecting a luxury vehicle. Yeah, the G has its shares of pops and squeaks but it's still a lot better in comparison to the STi. It's not constantly making noises. The STi is based on the econobox Impreza and the interior is pretty much carried over except for the Alcantara seating surfaces and the gauge cluster. I was talking about the fit and finish too. At least the G has a real aluminum faced console. The cheap plastic silver painted console on the STi will scratch if you look at it funny.

^ LOL, the 03 - 05 G's interior are all plastic. Scratches easily too.

I had to replace of 06 Aluminum handle cover because it also scratched.

do what you want to do....in all honest you can make any car fast with the right amount of money....if the G is paid for why get rid of it....use the money you would have used on the sti/evo and upgrade/mod the G.....I love my G and wouldn't trade it for anything....and seeing that i went from a cavalier to a civic si to a g35 i think the G is a great choice.

Ive had an evo and boy was it loads of fun, BUT you will and always will be labelled as the ricer hoon. You've taken a step up with the G, so i say keep it and if its performance you're after think about investing in a HKS TT Kit?

I absolutely believe there are more EVOs and STis on the road than G35 coupes. At least around here, there are. I wouldn't drive an evo or sti simply because everyone and their moms has one.

Coming from the EVOLUTION community, the CT9A EVO8 and 9 it's a bare bones car. It was what you need and not what you dont. No cruise control, EVO 9 has a leather suede interior, while 8's have a blue cloth covered recaros. EVO's have no sound dampening, you hear everything. I love EVO's and they are extremely capable.

Get what you want, plain and simple. And to the people that seem to think the G has tones of squeaks and rattles, maybe the old 03-04's did. Spend the $$$$ on an 06' like I did. Not a single complaint here, live my G. But then again, I didn't pay $15-20K for a five for a six year old car with 80K on the speedometer that had been ragged and raced by a teenager.
Ya gotta pay to play. Then again, our G's aren't Porsches either.

Yeah my cover on the driver side is scratched up too! Idk how that happened. Was like it since I bought it from the previous owner.

There are lots of squeaks and rattles in my G, and some are mysteriously intermittent, but my bro has a WRX and THAT sucker squeaks, so he's not far off base.
That's why I like Hondas.......
