Door locks Issue
Door locks Issue
I searched around the forum and I believe that the door lock actuator is broken on my G. I just wanted to make sure before I bought the parts. The door locks only work manually. They do not work with the keyfob or the interior switches. It happened all of a sudden. With that said, do I have to change both the driver and passenger side door actuator? I found two brand new ones on ebay for $170 a piece. Thanks.
Is it an easy fix?
Wait they both stopped working all of a sudden? That is highly unlikely that both actuators went bad at one time. Start by checking for blown fuses. Then see if you have power at the door actuators when the lock buttons are pressed. If all that checks out then its your actuators, if not then it could be the body control module.
It could also be the lock switch on the drivers side.
You could check out the directions to troubleshoot in the service manual.

Both power locks stopped working all of a sudden. The power locks switches as well as the keyfob both do not work. If it is a fuse, which one is it? I checked both fuse boxes (one by the pedals and by the battery) and I cannot find a fuse for door locks. I don't believe its the BCM either since everything else is working perfectly. Its only the power door locks that seem to be an issue. I am going to check out the service manual and mess around with a few things. I will keep you posted.
Does your fuel door lock and unlock normally? Can you pop the trunk by remote? If so then its probably a fuse or the switch. I don't know what fuse it is off hand but it probably wont be labeled power door locks or anything obvious like that.
The fuel door locks and unlocks normally and the remote opens the trunk. The remote doesn't work in opening the door locks as well as the switches inside too. The locks seem to move very slightly. You can actually here something when you press lock/unlock on the remote and the interior door lock switches. I didn't think both actuators would die at the same time at the same moment.
hmm well if they are moving slightly then it probably is just the actuators. Is it possible one wasn't working for a while and you just didn't know? I know I only discovered that my passenger side one went bad when my roommate randomly opened the passenger door while it was supposed to be locked setting the alarm off. I have no idea how long it was broken for because I always keep my car locked, even in the garage and know I need my keys if I need to get in it. It may have been broken for months. Maybe same situation for you and you just now have had the second one break? Otherwise both failing at the same time would likely be a result of another problem.
There's a third fuse box hidden behind the battery.
Most likely its just the actuators, they commonly go bad.

i have the same problem. the passanger door locks i i click the lock button in the car, but the driver side never closes. luckily, if i do it manually i can lock it and reopen it, but it is very very annoying and pretty disappointing for a "luxury coupe" that the freakin lock doesnt even work properly. my 2000 honda civic's power locks work even better than my g's.
