What tire you get depends upon what you want from a tire, I wanted long life so I bought Kumho Ecsta LX Platinum, the UTQG is 600 so they should last a long time and the ride is quiet and they seem stick to the road very well.

If you want max performance and sticky tires you will be limited to a tire which will have a UTQG rating of about 300 or less which will wear out twice as fast.

No my alignment is fine, I only allow the Infinity dealership to work on my car, even oil changes. The tires wore evenly, not just on the inside or outside, and the wet weather traction sucked. When ever I hit a stream of water they slid all over the place. The Kumho tires I have now may not be as quiet but they are great in wet and dry weather, and don't seem to be wearing at all. The Kumhos have a deeper tread from the factory, more than the Handkooks had. The Handkooks have a tread rating of 280 with a fair wear rating from consumer reports. I don't race my car nor spin my tires, I live 3 miles from my job and all of my driving is city and highway. When I bought the car the previous owner had changed the front tires witch were Handkooks and the rear tires were the factory Bridgestones. The Bridgestones still had some tread left but I replaced the front 2 with more Handkooks, they wore out before the Bridgestones that were already on the car. So I did a lot of research and boiled down to the Continentals DWS and Kumho SPTs which both had great treat wear numbers 320 and 540, and both had high grades for tread life and wet weather traction. If the Handkooks work for you that's great but I will never purchase another one. Sometimes you get what you pay for, cheapest is not always the best way to go. The Handkooks are ultra high performance street tires and the Continental and Kumho are ultra high performance summer tires witch is the difference and why the last longer, something some of you may want to consider when buying your next set of tires. Hope this helped?

I wouldn't say that. The GS-D3 is an exceptional tire that's great in the dry and really shines in the wet. I couldn't find any in my sizes when I had the NSX, but NSX owners with aftermarket wheels would always rave about these ( as well as Dunlop Z1 star specs ).

once you run starspecs( or a uhp summer) everything else is doo doo.

if you in to any kind of performance get something sticky, and if not a stickier tire is much safer for emergency conditions.

I agree, the UHP summer tires seem to ride more comfortably and last longer. No tire is perfect and you have to just find tire the fits you lifestile and driving habits.

I bought the v12's for my car, haven't installed them yet, but will be in the next couple of weeks actually

I got my rears (245/40/19) for 350 plus taxes and shipping, total came to like 390, if your price is installed then its pretty good deal. Oh and thats in canadian, so it was probably like 370 total american. But that price was without mounting etc.

Note that Tread Wear numbers are NOT consistant from brand to brand.

These numbers are ONLY of value when comparing two tires of the SAME BRAND. (prior post above reminded me of this and thought some might benefit).

To the OP, I would take a look at the articles.

I'm not surprised at the poll results.
