![Question](https://g35driver.com/forums/images/icons/icon5.gif)
whats up fellow g drivers, the mod bug has officially hit and i need to mod my stock 04 g coupe. im thinkin crawford z headers, 5/16 plenum spacer, fast intentions HFCs, z tube 06 revup airbox with kn filter, 07 350z HR Y pipe. any reccomendations as to anything else to add? im focused on adding power and keeping the wonderfull sound the vq makes stock. (not trying to completely break the bank)

Skip the HR y-pipe for MAX power. With HFC, the piping won't match up to the HR y-pipe. The opening the HFC is 2.5 vs the <2.2" on the HR y-pipe. Go with an aftermarket y-pipe like the Motordyne XYZ (proven power). If that is to expensive, get a Nismo type y-pipe (2.5" inlet, 3' outlet). At least the piping diameters will match the HFC's, but the diamter's won't match the OEM mid-pipe. I'd rather have the piping match before the merge rather than after the merge.
After all that, you will need a tune as you a/f ratio will need to be adjusted and to maximize the potential of the mods. Top it off with an Osiris tune.

I didn't mention the ART pipes, due to it's price. Although the XYZ pipe is also pricey. $359 for the y-pipe and $154 for the resonator.
If you have the cash, get the XYZ and ART pipes.
IMO, it's gonna be hard to get the max potential out of all the breathing mods without a high flow exhaust system. I did it the cheap way and still made good power.
Read this thread. A good read from Tony at Motordyne explaining his research on designing his exhaust.
