Sounds like the bushing in the crossmember where the diff is seated burst. If the stains start at the top of the diff housing and run down I'll bet that's your problem.

Im in San San Clemente as well...not too many G's in this area. Hopefully I will see ya around.

Anyways Im not sure what that is...def looks like a leak...take it to Corner 3 Garage in Lake Forest and have them check it out. They are the best for our cars in Southern OC.

I'm 99% sure the picture you posted is exactly what I thought the issue was. Infiniti might cover that under the powertrain warranty, I'm not sure though.

Nissan wanted $1300 to fix a similar issue on my old Maxima. The rear crossmember had a bushing that started leaking and they refused to just replace the bushing. Wanted to charge me for the whole crossmember so I said screw it and sold the Max to buy my G.

I can't believe they don't make a replacement bushing for this, I quickly looked at the fsm and its a huge job replacing the crossmember, not to mention the $450 price tag for the member itself, just for a bushing wow!! No wonder they nissan wanted $1300 to replace it on the max Blue.

You have an '07 should still be under warranty. Take it to Infiniti and be very direct, "You noticed this leak and want it fixed!" You don't need to tell them what's leaking, that's their job....you just want it fixed!

Some companies do carry just the bushings, Here's an example:

I'd follow Gary's advice though.
