ATTN: if you have PAINTED CALIBERS-void warranty?
Hi guys,
As noted on my past post, I am having a clicking sound w/ my rear tire--I dunno if this is coincidentally because of my painted calipers (I painted on SAT) NOTICED (key word being NOTICED) the problem on Sunday...
I am taking this to Cerritos Infiniti tomorrow for a warranty fix... however do you think they will say that because the calipers are painted that this was the reason for the problem and thus my warranty is void?
Thanks for the help
Volks GT7s... ONE DAY, if you wanna sell your's and are in the LA area, let me know! =D

just tell them u sprayed the calipers without taking them off.
i think if u tamper with the calipers, and the problem is ur caliper, they wouldn't service it.

Yeah, I most definitely didn't take the calipers off... I just hope they can realize this--they aren't punks about these things are they?

Don't be so concerned with your warranty. If you were so concerned with it, then you wouldn't have painted your calipers in the first place. Unless your paint job CAUSED your brake issue, they have to service it under warranty. The only problem in your case is that they can just easily blame it on you.
If I were you, I just wouldn't say anything to them about your painted calipers. If they bring it up, just say it was professionally done and you doubt it is due to that.
And when they don't do the work under warranty, that doesn't mean they just don't fix your car. You just have to pay them out of your own pocket, instead.

The clicking is most likely your rear axle which will need to either be tightened or replaced. I had mine tightened at 3K and replaced at 11K. Many coupe owners have reported the same problems.

I had that same clicking. The replaced something in the suspension... a bushing maybe? I'm not sure. I had it replaced twice because when I put an additional 10K on my car it came back. It shouldn't have anything to do with your calipers. If it happens when you hit bumps, speed up, it's probably what I had.

Had the right rear tire clicking noise as well. Took it in and it was the axel. Had it replaced at 5k. It's under warranty so go get it fixed. I still get the clicking sound every now and then, but when I had it replaced it was clicking ALL the time from first gear to second.
