Mine doesn't light up? I turn the ignition to "on" and most if not all of the lights light up. All except for "check engine".

Isn't it suppose to light up for a few seconds and then disappear?

EDIT: 06 Do not have "CEL". We have a "Service Engine Soon" light instead.

I just ran my flashlight across the cluster and couldn't find the check engine symbol anywhere? Saw a bunch of other symbols though.

Pshift? probably for the automatics.

LOL, I must be trippin. I'll check again.

^ Yea, my cluster is missing that. I have an 06 6mt with Rear active Steer.

I see a "Key", "windshield", "set", "cruise", "RAS", "battery", "Left arrow, Right arrow", Battery, "service light", "P Shift", "airbags, seat belt, door, and "oil".

No check engine.

Can someone check their car real quick?

Thanks man. Something is definitely wrong with my car. The check engine doesn't light up, and I don't see that 'symbol' anywhere.

Right above the VDC light is the red air bag lights.

I guess I'll ask Infinti to take a look when I take it in for the airbag recall. And get some sleep man. lol.

It's suppose to turn on when you turn your keys right? Then it turns off? At least that's how it is on other cars.

when you turn the key on, the check engine light lighted up briefly just simply means it is doing self check. it went away means it is ok and if it is stay on means you are in trouble

jibber we don't have an official "CEL"

The "Service engine soon" is our CEL which is why you can't find it, you don't have one. Before I got a code reader I was turned away from a couple of part stores when I asked to have my codes read. They insisted that the SES light was different than a CEL and therefore wouldn't read my codes. Won't take my business to those stores anymore.

Finally an answer.. Thanks man.

So if I was doing the ECU reset, the Service Engine Soon light is the one that should be blinking right?

Correct, glad to help.

On a lot of cars with a CEL the SES light is used more as a maintenance reminder than a trouble light.
