70% is the legal limit for front window tint in NY. Rears can be as dark as you want. But even that depends on what kind of cop you encounter.

I got 30% in front windows and 20% in the rears. I paid 180 for them. 3M tint I believe.

Hey also, C, do you see the blurred lights from other cars?
Peter told me and my friend the same, but my friend got 50%, anyway lol - it came out great IMO.

I get blurred lights at night through the back glass, but none of the others. I got used to it after a week or so, doesn't even phase me anymore.

I have had 35% and 50% on my past three cars and have never had an issue.
When I got my coupe the rear was tinted 20% and none on the side, which looks like crap and is way to dark at night with the rearview mirror. Even in the day with sunglasses on its hard to see out.

I am currently having the rear removed and 50% rear/sides. Past tint jobs have cost $250 and well worth it where I go.

I paid $110 for all 5 windows and the strip on the windshield. 5% all around, i got pulled over once for rolling a stop, and the tint meter gave me a reading of 4%. Luckily he let me off with a warning for the windows.

I paid between $100-120 3 years ago. Ceramic film, and I believe 35% front and 20% for the rears.

And you want a type of film that doesn't shrink. If a car sits in the sun all day. you want your tint keep shape. Not shrink and wrinkle up or bubble up. Never heard of any tinting film that shrinks.

Installers use a heat gun to install these film so it's good that they don't shrink. When the test fit the film, it's the perfect fit. So shrinking would cause problems.

I live in the bay. I have 35% all the way around except the windshield on a DG coupe. I know you can go as dark as you want in the back but no tint in front. I did it anyway. I paid $250 at Omega Tintwerks in Pleasanton. Talk to Vince. I used metallic tint, its fine, ceramic was $100 more. No radio/cell phone interference. Dont do dyed.

I have my windows tinted pretty noticeable (can't see inside my car) on every window except the windshield (03 red coupe). Never been pulled over, when I see a cop, I roll my windows down. They'll never be able to tell

The reason they're able to use a heat gun on tint is because it DOES shrink, but it will only shrink in one direction ( think wood grain ). Once the film has set, the adhesive will allow the film to keep its form.

20% here,paid 130+tax all Windows minus w/shield strip(was already there).3 yr warranty.
But I do have an issue, the feature that bumps the driver window down when the door is opened caused the tint to wrinkle a bit because it was not dried completely.
Also I noticed the pixellation around the 1/4 Windows and rear windows show tiny bubbles...so its going back.

Really? I've seen them do the installation. They pre-cut the film to make sure its a perfect fit.

Then spray some soapy water and align everything up. Use a credit card to get rid of all the bubbles and as much water as possible.

Then they use the heat-gun to get rid of the water. If it does shrink it is very minimal.
