When people ask you, what type of car is that? - Do you respond with "Nissan Skyline" or "Infiniti g35" ? I recently rebadged my G, so I'm curious as to how other G drivers respond. Granted, if I said Skyline with my Mt. Fuji still on the back, the average person wouldn't know the difference. When someone does now the difference, I usually explain why I swapped badges..... Any thoughts?

Maybe you should ask yourself why did you rebadge your car then if you don't know what to call it? Not to personally attack you but thats what confuses me about the rebadging. If you're gonna do it, did you put a Nissan emblem on the front grill too? You may as well take off the Fuji on the back too cause Infiniti's don't make Skyline's.

It's just even more confusing.

Me, i've rebadged my car as well. I've put NISSAN on front and back. Right now, only the rims have the infiniti logo in the center caps.

When people ask what i drive, i answer back with the question if they know what a SKYLINE is. If they say no, answer = G35. If they answer yes, i say SKYLINE.

Just now, i was driving out to pick up lunch. Some civic was behind me full of high-school kids. I could see them in my rear-view pointing at my car and in a "hooked on phonics" tone say: "SKY...LINE" Tried to keep up with me but of course, couldn't.

I don't give a fugg what people think or say. It IS a SKYLINE!

And right on, it IS a Skyline. Infiniti DOES sell a Skyline, they've only rebadged the Nissan and added a few luxury touches here and there. Fact is, rebadging to Nissan could be seen as righting a wrong. I'm a big enough Nissan fan that I prefer to give the credit where it's due. Nissan usually hits a homerun with their Skyline, and this one is no different... ...except in terms of the badge that's placed on it for us Americans that can't appreciate a Nissan to pay good money for it.

I'll rebadge and, personally, I'll be doing it to save myself some headaches. I'm in West Texas, and most of our clients are older "good 'ole boys" making their living on tax-payer dollars and ranching on the side. Most will not think twice about the cost of a nice-looking Nissan but they certainly might balk that they're paying us too much (HA!) if they see me cruise up in an Infiniti.

As much as I dig the Skyline seats, I'm not sure if I'll ever buy them. That's fine with me, as my main concern is people seeing the infiniti badges from a distance.

If someone out of nowhere asks what i drive, i still reply infiniti g35 coupe. If someone sees the jdm badging and doesnt get it, i explain. People who know about cars know its a skyline and so no explaining needed.

What ever is on my car is what i say. I to re-badged my car. When i go to Japan i am grabbing that air bag cover.

 

Unless you change every reminiscence of Infiniti to Nissan, including changing to RHD, it's a G35. Doesn't matter what the hell your trunk says, or what the emblem on your grill is.
