Re: G35 Coupe Tires

LISTEN UP-

I have had this problem for well over a month and a half now.. The problem arose at 10.5k miles. I put a post up if I recall correctly, and I got a response from 6mtincharlotte.. He apparently had the same problem that I did. My tires, @10.5k, were all bald, including the center portion of the two back tires. To make a long story short, 6mtincharlotte wrote me back and said this:

"Yeah, call Infiniti of America's national headquarters. I think their number is on the website.

Well I told them that my tires had worn out at 10,000 miles and that it was absolutly unacceptable after spending close to $40,000. They told me that the tires weren't part or the warranty, but they would replace them as a "one time goodwill gesture."

I followed his method, and talked to the head of the head of the department. They couldnt do anything and forced me to go to Goodyear to ensure my tires werent faulty. Take the car to Goodyear, tires are fine, but they said they would split the cost of four new tires, they would pay for 2, I would pay for 2.

I am still waiting on my tires to this day, 2 have come in, the other 2 havent. This is seriosuly ridiculous having to replace tires at 10K. It is pretty evident that a lot people are having the same problem. Is there anything that we can do?

Re: G35 Coupe Tires

Are the 18s the only problem or are the 17s having this problem too?

Re: G35 Coupe Tires

I strongly suggest however is having problems with the tires to have your alignment checked. Mine kept drifting to the right just to be told it was normal...then surprise surprise...a TSB for the tie rod on the coupe. Damn thing still kinda drifts even after the tie rod was replaced and I paid for a 4 wheel alignment not too long ago. Not so much to correct the problem but to cover my @$$. If it continues...they're gonna regret having a "hispanic causin panic" at their dealership..ha.ha.. FYI, on my 03.5 the rears gave out at about 22K and I'm hoping that I get another 5K out of the fronts. I changed the rears to the new Pilot A/S and they are freakin great...they were so grippy at first that it was kicking in the VDC on too quickly. If you consider these, they have a lot more treadwear on them as well...original were rated like at 220 and the A/S are rated at 400. Just my 2 centavos...

It's a G thang, you wouldn't understand...No Really, you won't understand unless you have one.

Re: G35 Coupe Tires

Yes, there might be some alignment issues. I had mine checked, and they said it was good, but the dealer still replaced the control arm on the right. My front tires are still in good shape with 9000 miles. The rears I noticed are starting to get a bit thin on tread. I wonder if it has anything to do with the nice torque curve and heavy foot. Naah...couldn't be.

Re: G35 Coupe Tires

My G's alignment is fine per both dealers I took it to.. The dealers told me to call the Infinity's Main Office to complain about the wear and they told me "sooo sad nothing we can do about the wear of the tires they put on the coupe"

Sorry guys this might sound stupid (coming from a girl) how can I check the miles I have left on my tires since they are such a treadless tire anyways ???
