OP, if your wheel is only 8" wide then go with 245's. Just throw a sticky set of tires on.

Just installed new 255x35x19's on an OEM 8.5" wheel. After examining the combination, I've concluded that this is the widest tire I would suggest putting on these wheels.

I agree, I just got 245/35/R19 fronts and 255/40/R19 rears installed and I think this is pretty the widest tire setup you can go w/ 19" OEM wheels.
