I just had the 5/16 Plenum spacer installed in my car... I do feel a lil more pick up and throttle response.. But I feel like I felt more of a difference when I installed my K&N CAI... Also.. I've read about a more deep throaty growl I should notice.. Maybe I havent given it enuff of a chance yet.. Seeing as how I just drove it back from my mechanic... And havent really tested it out.. But I was expecting something a lil more noticeable... feedback on this install???

Even though you've gained a little more power, a spacer and CAI won't actually do much by themselves. Replace exhaust and get a tune and you will feel more.

What year and tranny is your car? Any other mods?

I've got an 03 5/AT coupe.. But I only drive in SS mode. As far as engine mods are concerned.. That's all. CAI & Plenum. I dont wanna do a Exhaust mod tho.. Kinda ricey IMO. No offense to anyone who has. I suppose that's all the power I really need anyway.. Im going more for a Clean/Nice handling ride than a Speed Demon...

I would at least get HFC's. Seems like you want a little growl...lol

from what i have read I was thinking the same thing.. I guess that's why i haven't gotten one yet.. cuz i thought it would add about 11 to 16 more hp.. and a deeper sound.. i like the stock exhaust.. just want it deeper.. im not a fan of that "ricer" sound all that noise and not even going fast makes the car sound cheap.. I do want a lil growl... Just dont really want to alter the stock exhaust note.. Honestly, the exhaust is loud enuff for me... I like the exhaust note the stock exhaust gives off... I've never heard a G with just HFC's.. Similar to the growl of adding headers?.. I wanted to do Headers.. Without an exhaust. But.. Im not sure im willing to pay 6-800 for headers than another 6-1000 for the install. Not worth it IMO.

HFC's alone will make the car a little louder and add around 5-10HP since the CATs are the biggest restriction in the exhaust. Exhaust tone shouldn't be off that much with them.

wait so your saying you minimal gins with the spacer..i was def looking forward towards getting that next...maybe ishould just get HFC's???

The spacers are a good mod for the price. Combined with a better flowing intake and HFC's, they should yield a decent gain. The plenum spacers are easy to install, HFC's will be more difficult but can be done by yourself as well (a lift would be nice).

yeah, i like my car alot but for the power numbers infiniti claims, along with a 3.54 rear end you would think it would be a little bit faster. even being as heavy as it it.

Lift isn't necessary but having another person to help definitely is... there is a tutorial on installing the high flow cats on youtube by berk technology - it is very informative...

The HFC's will change the exhaust note and make it deeper - it did on my HKS.

Many members actually decide to change their exhaust setup becuase they want the extra power as well they want the deeper grunt that entices many to buy fast cars.

You should listen to some more exhaust mostly in person and im sure you will learn to like one. I have borla catback with resonator delete which gives it the more growl you would expect with hi-flow cats added to the setup now i love the the sound it makes it gives me chills but when just cruising along i swear it actually is quieter than stock and doesnt growl until you hit 3k RPM which is why i love my set up becuase it looks and sounds stock while driving normal but when i want it to be peppy all i have to do is push the gas!!!

anyways its your preference but just think about it less back pressure will help with the new intake of air and actually make getting a tune reasonable
